Girl Friends

I am going to be very vulnerable here and talk about my personal life. Girl friends, I need your help. I have recently switched from using a rag and my Axe body wash, the commercials are not true, to a loofa and my Axe body wash.

How in the world do you get the soap out of the loofa once you are all clean!!!? No matter how hard I try to squeeze the soap out, it makes more soap. Its a loofa soap machine. So, I give up and just hang it up. Any advice from my girl friends out there would be helpful. Or I guess I could ask my friend Carl. I believe I saw him toting a soapless loofa around Peru. Hmmm...?

Funny. I was looking up information on Will Smith's "I am Legend" movie, and I ran across this blog. It was nice to read a brother in the Lord's take on the movie, and I found it insightful and amusing. Are you familiar with Brian Godawa? He's a Christian director who also looks for the redeeming quality in Hollywood movies.

So, back to "funny." I love it how God made men and women. We need each other, you know? If there weren't women, who could give you an honest 'loofah' answer (from their heart nonetheless)?

OK, so your answer, dear brother:

Once you're done washing your body, take the loofah by the string (they all usually have one), and hold it by your finger right below the shower head. Let the water run through it for about 30 seconds. Squeeze it out, and repeat. Do this a couple of times--the running water will rinse it out. This usually will get all of the soap out.

Also, I hate to disabuse you of the notion (well...sort of), but loofahs are great in that they create a great lather, but they also hold a TON of bacteria.

My suggestion, after you rinse it out, let it hang dry so that it doesn't touch anything around it (i.e. a wall, washcloth, etc.).

Hope I helped!

God bless you!

well, since it's been months since you've posted this, I hope you have come to a solution. If you don't happen to have a minute and a half to rinse your loofah, you can just drop it on the floor and let your shower wash it out. If you don't really trust your cleaning job on the shower floor or worry about it getting super nasty, you can just rinse for a few seconds and give up...like I do.
As far as bacteria goes, I always hang it up and throw it in the washer with the towels every so often.
Of course, this is just my professional opinion :).
