McCoffee?

Hello, My name is Major. I am a coffee-holic. I have been coffee free for seven months. OK, truthfully, I can count on one hand the times I have had coffee in the past seven months. This past week I have been uber busy with work, painting, volunteering for the Nashville Film Festival, doing video work, and trying to work in running time to prepare for the Music City Marathon.

This is where you find me. I had heard that McDonald's was giving Starbucks a run for their money with their new Premium Roast Coffee. So I decided to try it this morning. Now, for the record I do love some of Starbucks coffee. I also love the local coffee shops. I have no consumer loyalty to either. I think both contribute to the capitalist market that this country was founded on. And when it comes to which one I will purchase from it is usually decided by which one I am closest to. This morning I was closest to McDonald's.

So, as a recovering coffee-holic connoisseur. I can say that McDonald's Premium Roast Coffee tastes like poop. It tastes like someone opened a can of Folgers and brewed it right up. The "barista" if you will, poured it out of a glass pot that was sitting on a hot eye. Ok, that's fine...my taste buds just didn't like it. I drank it, still am drinking it for the caffeine. I guess there was a honeymoon when McDonald's starting offering their coffee. Starbucks isn't opening any new stores and has closed a few. As Americans get their coffee fix I am sure the playing field is going to level out.

I decided to rank my favorite coffee in order. Here goes.
1. Millstone Coffee, check your local grocery.
2. Dunkin Doughnuts, we don't have one in Nashville.
3. Fido's Coffee Shop, 21st ave, Nashville, TN
4. Starbucks, Serving Billions everyday.
