Free iPhones for Church of Christ

Abilene Christian University is supplying all it's incoming freshmen with free iPhones next year. My question is, how much is tuition going up next year? Who's paying for those iPhones? It is a private Church of Christ school and that is great if they want to do that but where is the money coming from? I think its a novel idea for a university to build the technological infrastructure for the future of the students. Kudos to Abilene C.U. for embracing technology.


Pssst. Down here Mr. Provost...if you wait until after June, when the new iPhones come out, I bet you can get the older iPhones at a crazy bulk discount.

Go Green!!!

For my readers Runs With Scissors has gone green. And it has nothing to do with the environment. Also, I just heard on the radio that McCain is pandering to the Greenie Weenies and that Al Gore is making tons of Green from the Golbal Warming scare. Funny how scientist say that we are in a 30 year cooling phase now. Anywhoo, sorry for politikin. Thats better served over at Creative Liberty. Well, for the record, man is not responsible for the cooling or warming of this great earth, God is. So, take it up with Him. We should be stewards of what he has given us. But in the end, there will be global warming. He is going to flash fry this planet and cast it away. At least thats how I read it in the good book. But we dont have to worry about that for years!!!

McDonalds vs. Chick-fil-A

This Thursday (05-15-08) McDonalds is giving away their new Southern Chicken Sandwich, breakfast or lunch, with the purchase of a large drink. I tried the chicken sandwich yesterday, the first time I have purchased McDonalds in about a year, and it was pretty good. It tastes better than it looked. I don't think McDonalds will break into Chick-fil-A's market at all. Sure, with the free sandwiches they will garner a honeymoon effect like they did with the release of their new coffee. Here's why, although the sandwich was good it fell short in the healthy catagory.

Chick-fil-A uses a whole wheat bun. The oil they use to fry the chicken with use to be Canola oil, wich is healthier than most oils. Chic-fil-A is healthier than most of the fried fast foods you will visit.

So, in McDonalds defense, the sadwich was good. I may eat it again if it were free. I dont usually eat white bread. The Coke, fries and icecream are delish at McDonalds. I havent had much at Chick-fil-A that I dont like.

In conclusion, I dont think McDonalds is going to give Truett Cathy a run for his money on the chicken sandwich. I just dont see it, or taste it.

Is this Biblical prophesy coming true. Not quite certain but sure looks like it. If you read Revelations 13 there are several other things that have to happen before we can call this, "the mark of the beast."

Pikes Place Roast

In a follow up review comparrison of Sbux and McDonalds coffee. I can officially say that I have lost my taste for coffee. Today I tried the smooth Pikes Place Roast from Starbucks. It tasted like poison. I guess thats better than poop. I still stand by my former statements on McDonalds coffee. You can officially strip me of my coffee conoseur title. Afterall, who needs caffeine when you have endorphins? Going for a long run today and a crazy core work out.

Iron Man

What can I say...better than the first Spiderman, as good as Batman Begins. Robert Downy Jr. plays Tony Stark very well. Gweneth Paltrow does an amazing job as Pepper Potts. I give this movie four stars. For you comic geeks, stay until the end credits. There is a special surprise.
