"I'm a Citizen of the world," is the new catch phrase of the liberals. Take this recent quote from Quinton Tarantino, "I am not an American film maker, I make movies for the planet Earth and Cannes is the place that represents that," said the 46-year-old, who won the Palme d'Or in Cannes in 1994 with "Pulp Fiction."
What does this term actually mean for liberals? Liberals think that by saying this they are distancing themselves from what they percieve others think about America. They think other countries hate America so therefore they want to be liked by other countries. Its an easy way for them to distance themselves from America without giving up any of the freedoms they love and partake of every day. "I am a citizen of the world..." sounds so lofty and intellectual. It is actually based in a sense of guilt, shame, and lack of understanding of who they really are. They are not secure enough in themselves to actually know what they really believe. So, they spout out these stupid slogans thinking it will make them look better in the eyes of others. Man, what narcissism.
This (narcissim) is what drives Barack Obama to feel the need to apologize to other countries for the actions of the past administration. He honestly thinks that apologizing will make him look better in the eyes of the world. That being politically correct will boost the worlds confidence in his administration. In actuallity it weakens it. The Muslim world finds respect in strength, not weakness. They may have hated the Bush administration but they sure respected it.
"I am a citizen of the world." What this really means is nothing. I am a citizen of the United States of America. I have been all over this world and I am not a citizen anywhere else. That is by choice. I was born here, therefore by law I am a citizen of this great land. But if the liberals want to say they are a citizen of the world then they need to go try to become a citizen of every country in the world. OR, the next time they are in a foreign country they need to try and vote, exercising their world citizenship rights and use the excuse that they are a citizen of the world so they should be allowed to vote. I bet that wont fly with the federalies. Nor will they be allowed any of the other judicial rights the real citizens of that country are granted. Beyond that, there are some countries where the citizens dont have very many rights at all. I bet Tarantino would be surprised to find that his world citizenship wouldnt go very far in Somalia.
