Greater Things Have Yet To Come

I have been in Fort Collins, CO since Sunday evening. I have a few remaining hours here before I have to head back to Denver, catch a flight to Minneapolis, Chicago and then to Nashville.

It has been a great time visiting Vince and Kirsten Black and their cadre of champions. Most all of my expectations of Colorado weather and terrain here in Fort Collins has been wrong. The weather has been amazing and even when it was cold, it wasnt crazy cold. Its sunny here 350ish days out of the year and the winters are not what you'd expect when you think of Colorado. All in all, I am leaving with great expectations.

Vince and Kirsten have moved here to plant a church in the Old Town area of Fort Collins. What kind of church? I posed that same question to Vince right now as we sit here talking over coffee. To reference the church it would depend if you are more familiar with any of the following, an Acts 29 Church, a Missional Church, an Independent or Non-Denominational church. Thats the best way to describe the church they are planting.

The Town will hopefully be located near or in Old Town Fort Collins and the target audience are those who desire to be in community with one another and God. Simple. The Town's main focus will be on discipleship and relationship building.

I am excited about what God is doing in the lives of Vince and Kirsten and their four boys. "Greater things have yet to come. Greater things are still to be done in this city." Chris Tomlin. Such is true with The Town in Fort Collins. I cant wait to come back to see the souls God draws to a church that is serious about worship, raising Godly families, and discipleship.
