iPhone 4

GIZMODO is reporting to have in its possession Apples latest iPhone 4.  If this is the real deal I am excited about the forward facing camera. Here is my question. Do you think video chat and will replace phone calls?  Much like texting has replaced emailing and Twittering has replaced blogging...man I sure hope someone reads this blog. Maybe I'll Tweet about it.

Beer Floats

As a child my parents would make us boys eat all their veggies and meat. We had to do it in order to get up from the table. A battle now that my older brother and his wife refuse to be caught up in. As for myself, at the current blogging circa its just me and my dog, I remember telling my parents that when I got older I was going to eat anything I wanted to for dinner.

Fast forward several adulthood years and I came home one night, exhausted from work, and really didnt want to make something for dinner but I was mean HONGRY! So, remembering my child hood battle cry of rebellion I headed straight for the freezer...and there it sat...a tub of Vanilla Ice Cream. Then I turned and on the counter...half a bottle of red wine. Yes, my dinner that night was ice cream and red wine. I have no shame. To my credit I did not gorge myself on ice cream nor did I drink the half bottle of wine. Shaking my fist in antiquated rebellion and saying, "Take that mom and dad, no veggies!" I ate until I was full.

For the record I love veggies and hardly ever have ice cream in my freezer. The ice cream in my freezer now if from a Good Friday date. She and I decided to make Beer Floats. Yes, you read that right. Beer Floats, like a Coke Float. How I came to make this and love it is for another time but on Good Friday it was splendid. The perfect weather, the perfect company and well, the perfect dessert. Here are the ingredients. Any beer with a chocolaty taste and vanilla ice cream. Place the ice cream in your cup and pour the beer over slowly. Stir the yummy mixture until its the consistency of a milk shake. Enjoy.

The future of MacBook Pro's?

With the release of the iPad where does this leave the MacBook Pro. Granted the iPad is a consumption machine and the MacBook Pro is a production machine. The iPad does need to be attached to a parent computer much like and iPod or an iPhone. With that being said here is what I would love to see out of the next generation of the MacBook Pros.

Introducing the MacBook Pro-Pad. When you open the MacBook Pro the screen is a functional iPad with full touch screen and app capabilities. Then, with the touch of the screen the iPad goes asleep and the Desktop comes into full view so you can use the power horse of the machine to edit videos, manipulate photographs, etc.

In one unit you can import photos and have them also load onto your iPad Screen. Then, with a click, you can detach the screen which at that point functions only as an iPad. Reconnect it to synch it with your computer.

The MacBook Pro-Pad would also have the new i7 chips with one terabyte of memory. With an upgrade of 2T of memory if you wanted. The new iSight camera would be in upwords of 5 megapixel and would also be forward facing to be used with video chat / video taking.

Thats what I would love to see in the new MacBook Pro's. I can dream right?

Phoenix

A game change in the middle of a name change...
A forced sabbatical in the midst of battle.
To gain perspective of the souls at hand.
To one day handle a soul with care.

"If you were half as bad as you are good you would be evil."
She uttered to me as a child.
She never knew I would be standing at the edge of darkness,
Peering into my soul, contemplating the leap, considering letting go.

And the war...It can not be won.
When all the players are using the same old gun.
Somewhere between hands down and hands held high,
Between the head and the heart the answers lie.

Triple Winters freeze a molten core.
Triple Springs ejaculate the newborn onto the floor.
Fresh and Clean to spread his wings.
He will shake it off and rise like a Phoenix to sing.

Then he will take her.
He will take her away from the battle, away from the war.
And show her fields laid green that lead to the mountain streams.
Where lilies grow in wine barrels and wine flows from the trees.
Where their embrace will release the doves they've longed to let go.

He will take her...ever so gentle under his mighty wing.

I Still Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

How to Turn an iPhone Into a Wireless iPad Camera

GIZMODO shows you how to do this trick.

Black and Blue

The radical left media and politicians have portrayed the Tea Party movement as a bunch of militant K.K.K. supporters who are all white and spew Nazi style hatred towards the Obama administration. And they say the only reason the Tea Party movement is so militant towards Obama is because he's black, I mean half-black...no wait, half Indonesian, No, hang on, half white? Part Hawaiian, anywhoo...a different color than the whities in the Tea Parties.

Then theres THIS. What? Really? *Americans of a darker skin tone appearing at Tea Parties in opposition to President Obama? Yeah, its true. See, the media is trying to paint the Tea Party movement as people who are hateful, militant, K.K.K., evil, yadda, yadda, yadda, insert the most vile analogy here. When in fact most of the Tea Party movement are fiscally conservative Americans from all parties. Yes, conservative, liberals and independents, people of many faiths, degrees, and backgrounds. *Americans of a darker skin tone have come under fire, being beaten verbally black and blue by the media. Just read the article.

I hope the Americans who are not involved in politics will see that there is a factional minority out there that will say and do anything to demonize the American citizenry when the citizens are in disgust of how their government is operating. My hope is that those on the side lines get informed and chooses to see past the rhetoric and vote these evil doers out. They are on both sides of the isle and they must be voted out. I dont care if they are black, white, green or red. Their policy of hatred towards their fellow man shows two things. One, they cnat debate the issues so they resort to vulgar comments. Two, they show their true colors, you can identify them by the yellow line running down their backs.

*Americans of a darker skin tone: I am an artist. No one is Black or White...those are colors that melanin does not produce naturally. People are different shades of the color Brown. This is an effort to refer to people of African descent by calling them Americans. Not Black Americans, or African-Americans, but Americans and if you need to clarify it by skin color then do so but use the word Brown. Or my favorite, Darker skinned friend.

Dark Knight of the Conservative Movement

At the end of Nolans Batman; The Dark Knight, Batman tells Gordon to blame him for the death of the police officers and for Harvey Dent for the greater good of Gotham. Batman wanted to take the heat for a crime he didnt commit so that a man who once stood for justice could be remembered as such. Now, Batman is hunted by the police, his name besmirched, false accusations compelled against him. Thats the synopsis.

Batman: "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." I can do those things because I'm not a hero, unlike Dent. I killed those people. That's what I can be.
Gordon: No, no! You can't, you're not!
Batman: I'm whatever Gotham needs me to be. Call it in.
Gordon: They'll hunt you.
Batman: You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen.
Batman: Because sometimes the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.
Gordon's Son: Batman? Batman! Why is he running, Dad?
Gordon: Because we have to chase him.
Police officer: Okay, we're going in! Go, go! Move!
Gordon's Son: He didn't do anything wrong.
Gordon: Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now...so we'll hunt him...because he can take it...because he's not a hero...he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...a Dark Knight.

Sarah Palin can become what he conservative movement needs her to be. She can take the heat, the media slander, she can become the media distraction. I personally dont think Palin will run for president. I think she is going to continue to excite the base of the conservatives. And by conservatives I am not speaking entirely of Republicans. The Tea Party is mostly made up of conservative independents. Shes not the hero that the conservative movement deserves but the one it needs right now.

Blood Knuckles Clay

Today my Art One classes worked with clay. We got back to earthen grit of having our hands dirty for a while. Theres something about pounding out some clay that relieves stress. Almost as stress relieving as getting a massage. But not. We made pressed coil pots. In a few weeks we will move into slabs reliefs.  Its fun to mold a lump of clay into something useful.

After class today I noticed that somewhere along the day I had busted a knuckle open...it must have been recently...it didnt hurt. It was like water pouring out onto a barren cracked desert floor, crimson water on my very dirty hands. Kind of beautiful.
